Prince Edward Island Crow Observation LogsThis section includes reports of various observers from the Province of Prince Edward Island. Prince Edward Island: January 18, 2001 Can you tell me why a large number of crows would gather together? I live on PEI, Canda. We are deep in snow right now and I haven't seen very many birds around at all lately. Tonight, there were, I'm guessing 2,000 crows gathering in all the trees around our home and the few homes down from us. They were coming and landing in the tops of high trees and then waiting. They are so big and black against the sky it was kindof spooky to watch. It seemed they all waited until all the other crows got there and then in one big movement, they flew away in the same direction. It was amazing to watch. I have looked around a bit on the net but can't really find an answer. Karen (This section will be added to on a continuing basis. Your comments and suggestions are welcomed.
